About

Vince Zollner began a career in Graphic Arts after graduating from Chemeketa Community College in 1980. He worked in the printing industry until 2002 printing for private and commercial print shops in the Willamette Valley. In 2007, he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Western Oregon University.

His interest in photography started at the age of five taking pictures with his mother’s box camera. In High School, he took pictures for the yearbook. The people who have been a major influence as a photographer have been Henri Cartier-Bresson, Richard Avedon,  Martin Chambi, and local professionals.  He has continued to develop his own style for interacting with the clients to capturing the essence of the individual portrait and wedding story.

Vince likes to use both 35mm and medium format and currently works with the film medium that are converted into digital files.  His approach was to use digital as an extension of creativity to the Art of Photography.  His philosophical approach to the question of film versus digital is really a personal choice that should be based on the result desired. “I believe in incorporating the new technologies with the old when final result is enhanced.” He adds that digital captured images  are an addition to the current photographic methods.

Currently, he works in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. The years of experience have given him the knowledge to offer a distinct style of photography. His style incorporates the concept of environmental photographic portraiture using natural and artificial lighting techniques.
